Ever order bootleg anime from Hong Kong? For the stuff that isn't released in America yet, it's a great source, and for the most part, the translations are good enough that you can understand what's going on. That's not to say it's perfect, however. One of the most common phrases I've seen on them is " What is happening on earth!?" instead of " What on earth is happening!?"

I assume the process for the translators goes something like this: translate the Japanese into Chinese and use for the Chinese subtitles, then translate the Chinese into English instead of the Japanese. This ends up in a mangling of names in particular. In one instance, a character mentions Brad Pitt, and the subtitles read " Bladbot". So much unintentional hilarity!

But how all that relates to this picture is this: Pictured above is Inspector Megure (from the Detective Conan series). His name in the subtitles, however, becomes, as if you couldn't guess, Mumu, and with full title, Cop Mumu.

Now tell me that wasn't just begging for an illustration!

Don't reply to this with "Thanks for commenting!" or anything related to that. It's annoying.

But, I guess as they say, being a witch isn't bad.
